『NYのブルックリンに位置するこのギャラリーは、映画の撮影や、写真撮影、コマーシャルによく使用されているビルの中に存在する。
以前はShoe Factory(靴工場)として使用されていたが、現在は、多くのArtist(フィルムメーカーや写真家、デザイナーなど)が
カンパニーオフィスとして活用し、屋上にあるガーデンで開かれるガーデンパーティーではおよそ200人の人が集まるほど、Brooklynでは有名なビルディング。』
Takashi Ogura was born in Osaka, Japan. He learned the beauty of the sea through Scuba diving and surfing.
He decided to quit his job, and venture around the country searching for the perfect beach.
After he fell in love the beach of Miyazaki, Japan,
Sandy beach at dawn
The sand filled with seawater reflects sky.
Ever changing horizon creates unpredictable beauty.
And the beauty that is created by the careless nature of sea captures my heart.
2007/02 Start to photograph beaches with DSLR
2008/09 His work has been featured in official poster of Hamayou Music Festival 08 at Fukuoka
2009/07 Showcase his work at Art&Photobook Exhibition 2009 at Tokyo
2009/08 His work has been featured as one of the artists at Vibes Beach Party 2009 at Syonan
2010/04 Takashi Ogura Photography exhibition @ Ouchi gallery in NYC.
His pictures are more beautiful than the sea in my imagination and the actual sea I have seen.
Because I think that he can add the elements of his artistic talent and his imagination into the his pictures.
Anyway, the sea scapes and thier colors in his pictures look like the images I sometimes dream of!
―Ichiro Tsutsui, artist
The gradation of dawn that reaches into my heart Ever-changing sky takes me into my deepest thought.
the image gives me opportunity to realize mystery and majestic higher power.
―Yoko Ogura, Singer
His work is a visual sound box of the sea. In his world, time freezes and melts away with sound of waves.
His ability to photograph the ever changing nature of sea as with rich and deep color is amazing.
Many of his work contains very simple compositions yet each work is far different from others.
As a commercial photographer, I was always taught to fake and hide fault in reality in order to create acceptable photos.
Seeing and shooting “as is” like Mr Ogura’s does, give me great enlightenment.
Images Mr.Ogura crates stops time and gives me a window of escape in my chaotic life. Simple yet deep and unforgettable.
―Tsuyoshi Josh Kozono, commercial photographer
